Spooky, Historical Mon Valley Museum
McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center located is a non-profit museum and research facility preserving and presenting the history of Mon Valley. The center was founded in 1980, but the memorabilia showcased in the 7 rooms dates all the way back to the 1770’s.
Step inside to find yourself surrounded by numerous nostalgic photos and paintings. Listen closely as these photos and paintings scream out to you the fond memories of the area’s rich historical past.
Take a walk down 5th Avenue and discover what lurks all around you. Now, don’t get spooked if you get a glimpse of the museums homeless man, Sam as he hides behind various items hanging throughout the museum walls.
Make your way into McKeesport’s very own 1st schoolhouse which stands erected in the museum. If this old building doesn’t give you the creeps, walk through the schoolhouse doors to find yourself being welcomed by some ghostly students ready to teach you a lesson or two.
Next, take flight with Helen Richey on her own personal phantom plane. Unfortunately, take off won’t be smooth since she leaves behind a propeller. So, if her flying doesn’t give you goosebumps then take a trip down memory lane with all the extensive sport spirits ready to throw you a paranormal pass.
Don’t leave yet, the blue-collar ghostly workers and some of the museum’s spirit soldiers have some haunted historical advice to whisper to you. They need their voices to be heard loud and clear. Maybe even so much, they charge you before your exit.
