Haunted Abandoned Nursing Home
Dark History of Hill View Manor
Before it became one of the most haunted places in Pennsylvania, Haunted Hill View Manor was known as the Lawrence County Home for the Aged. Established as a county poor farm, the facility served as an institution for the destitute, the elderly without families, and mentally ill residents.
The institutional facility officially opened its doors on October 19, 1926. The initial residents included a married couple, Perry and Mary Snyder, their two children, 12 staff members, and 20 inmates transferred from the old City Home—including one young boy.
From Overcrowded Nursing Home to Abandonment
The Manor operated for decades, gradually transitioning into a skilled nursing center during the 1960s. By the 1970s, severe overcrowding forced the construction of a new section, now known as the North Wing. Following years of financial constraints, Hill View Manor closed its doors permanently in 2004.
Hill View Manor is closed to the living, but the souls of its past residents still roam the abandoned hallways. Today, it is a premier destination for paranormal investigations and ghost tours.
Visitors and investigators frequently report intense paranormal activity, including:
Full-Bodied Apparitions: Spirits walking the corridors.
Shadow People: Dark figures lurking in the North Wing.
Physical Encounters: The distinct feeling of being watched or touched.
Audio Phenomena: Phantom voices, disembodied footsteps, and eerie echoes.
Prepare yourself for a spine-chilling, heart-palpitating paranormal experience. Explore the long, dark hallways of the Manor, but stay alert—a few ghostly tricksters are waiting in the shadows.
