Real Haunted House

Constructed in 1810, the historic Doss House stands on ancestral land originally home to several Native American tribes. As one of the earliest structures built in the area, this property served as a vital community hub throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. Over the decades, it operated as a doctor’s office, a dentist’s clinic, an undertaking parlor, a boarding house for traveling workers, and the town’s primary barbershop.

During the mid-19th century, Adolf and Anna Stich owned the property. Adolf, the local barber, was affectionately nicknamed “Doss”—giving the historic home its modern name.

Today, current owners Shawnna and her wife, Danielle, preserve the home and its extensive collection of historical memorabilia. The property honors the enduring legacy of Shawnna’s late mother, Holley Cataldo, a cherished figure in the paranormal community. For researchers and believers in the afterlife, The Doss House stands as a profound symbol of hope and spiritual connection.

While local historians and residents remember the property as a loving family home, it has earned a reputation for intense, supernatural phenomena. Visitors regularly experience unexplained paranormal activity from the resident souls who still wander the halls.
